RE:PURPOSE/REPURPOSE

RE:PURPOSE/REPURPOSE

Located on the ground floor of Kentish Town Health Centre

Drawn Together was a creative response to a national crisis. Founded in 2020, developed and facilitated by Merlin Evans and the team at Creative Health Camden, the project invites people to connect, explore and play through the Arts.

Adopting a blended model of fortnightly online and offline creative activities, Drawn Together has sought to build a community of the curious. Using a diversity of visual prompts inspired by global artists and activists, and incorporating found materials and hand-made tools, Drawn Together strives to democratise the art making process and encourage the artist in us all.

Building on the connections and conversations that took place throughout the sessions, participants co-produced this exhibition - Re:Purpose/Repurpose. In the words of Drawn Together participants:

‘Nothing is ever lost or wasted, however broken people or objects are, they can still create beauty. We’re united in trying new things and in not being afraid to make mistakes. We endeavour to make art against perfection, and without fear of critics. We’re all learning to respect ourselves as artists - there is no perfect, as perfect is a concept that is alien to Art. As a group we have a joint purpose - we are like-minded and open-minded. We’ve all come from different places and backgrounds. We are all on an ongoing journey, and new people are always welcome. Anyone is free to join, and we welcome you on this journey with us - let’s Drawn Together’.
