Mark Making
At the start of the project we each got acquainted with our materials. We experimented with tissue paper, watercolour paints and charcoals. To get used to the materials we started by mark making to create different lines, shapes, patterns and densities. Here are some of our marks.
By Faye: different patterns and shapes of marks made with paints, from small dots to paint strokes
By Gareth: Various monochrome pencil marks on paper. Fine lines, patterns and smudges.
By Sarah: waves of smudged charcoal across page in wiggly lines
By Phil: drips and smudges of colourful paints in blue, red and yellow

By Sarah: circular splatters of paint in bright colours (red, yellow, green, blue, pink) smudged on top of each other
By Gareth: short colourful pencil marks in red, yellow orange and blue. Orange Vs and longer blue pencil marks.
By Phil: long paint brush marks of different sizes in various colours (yellow, dark red and blue)
