Mark Making
At the start of the project we each got acquainted with our materials. We experimented with tissue paper, watercolour paints and charcoals. To get used to the materials we started by mark making to create different lines, shapes, patterns and densities. Here are some of our marks.
By Faye: different patterns and shapes of marks made with paints, from small dots to paint strokes
By Gareth: Various monochrome pencil marks on paper. Fine lines, patterns and smudges.
By Sarah: waves of smudged charcoal across page in wiggly lines
By Phil: drips and smudges of colourful paints in blue, red and yellow
By Phil: drips, splatters and smudges of colourful paints in blue, red, orange and yellow.
By Phil: pencil/charcoal strokes across the page in circles and smudges
